Desert Sounders gathered for their Second rehearsal of the Season this Monday. Rogers Hornsby began with a very detailed WARM-UP focusing on Stance, Breathing, Tone Production, Pitch Tuning.
A Weekly "Old Songs" Review was conducted by leading the chorus in the following Barbershop Polecat songs:
- My Wild Irish Rose
- You Tell Me Your Dream
- Shine On Me
In addition to the polecat songs, the chorus also worked on the popular "tag" in the back of the polecat book, "Give Me Your Hand"
At this time Jim McClelland handed out the music for "The Stars Spangled Banner" was passed out and Rogers played each part for the first time. This song will be useful when the Desert Sounds Chorus is contacted for singing at sports events.
Break and Business Meeting
The music for "The Little Boy That Santa Forgot was passed out and Rogers trained the Chorus in the Tag portion of the song.
The meeting closed with a rousing verse of "Keep the Whole World Singing"
